Why are the glasses so ugly?

They are no fashion statement, the glasses were made to block blue light from all angles. They are to be used 90 min before sleep, not throughout the whole day.

Can the glasses help help eyestrain and migrains?

Yes, dark red glasses help eleviate migrain symptoms. And any model helps with eye strain.

With the exception of migrains, do not use the glasses throughout the day.

Put them on 90 min before sleep for best results.

How can these help me adjust to my shift work schedule?

Depending on how much your work shifts you from natural day (sunrise to sunset). If you are not driving, you can use the glasses on your way home after your night shift to help you fall asleep sooner.
